your very own wildlife safari in Borneo. Come trek with us

in search of colourful tropical birds, crocodiles, huge
monitor lizards, wild pigs, elephants, otters, several
species of monkeys, tree snakes. It is also a haven for the
Proboscis Monkey, Orang Utan, hornbills and kingfishers.
This trek has us camping in the jungle next to the mighty
Kinabatangan River to see firsthand the Jungle come to life.
Our morning and evening safaris allow us to see up close a
large range of the wildlife in the area. Our second night on
safari we stay in the comfort of one of the river lodges;

The Sandakan-Ranau
POW Death March
The Sandakan-Ranau POW Death March
is acknowledged as the worst tragedy for Australia in World
War II. Tragic though it is, the story of the Death March is
an important chapter in the shared wartime history of
Australia and Sabah/ Borneo. We spend two nights and three
days exploring sections of the Sandakan Death March Route by
vehicle and on foot. We visit the haunting 8 mile Prisoner
of war camp at Sandakan; explore the Sandakan town including
the Catholic Church where the prisoners first stayed on
arrival in the area. We also take time out to visit the
Sepilok Orang Utan sanctuary. We overnight at the Forest
lodge, along the route. We then continue along the route
stopping in at the villages along the route, visiting Poring
Hot Springs before we overnight at the Sabah Tea House. We
spend some time at Quaileys Hill before spending a relaxing
evening looking at the majestic Mt Kinabalu. Our journey
starts after breakfast with a drive onto Ranau the final
destination of the Death March. Here we pay our final
respect before continuing on to the beautiful and moving
Kundasang War Memorial.
