Day 1 - Travel To WA

Arrive Perth.

Transfer to Prevelly Caravan Park in the afternoon (4 hr drive).

Day 2 - Cape Naturaliste to Yallingup

Our hike starts at Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse with boardwalks to Sugar Loaf Rock, from here the track journeys along the clifftops as we look over the Three Bears Beach before hitting the sand and dunes. The walking day finishes with e few four-wheel drive tracks and then onto Yallingup for night 1. Today has been a good warm up for our expedition as we rest and prepare for a big day of walking tomorrow

Day 3 - Yallingup to Moses Rocks (18km)

Today we experience effort for reward with one of the longest walking days on this expedition. This 23 km day displays the best that the WA coastline has to offer. From Yallingup, across Smith’s Beach to Canal Rocks and then onto Wyadup and Injidup beaches. With a mixture of four-wheel drive tracks and beaches after lunch, we reach the clifftop views of Moses Rocks. Our campsite this evening, Moses Rock’s is a beautiful coastal campsite with stunning sunset views.

Day 4 - Moses Rocks to Ellensbrook (21km)

Our day starts with undulating tracks till we meet Wilyubrup Brook. The Wilyubrup Sea Cliffs are what makes today spectacular. With a chance to explore the craggy cliffs we admire the raw nature of this area. Once our cliff walks ends, we head back down to the beach and traverse boulders as we make our way into Gracetown. From here we walk through dry and barren landscape that slowly becomes coastal sea scrub. As we get closer to the campsite, we check out the grotto and Meekadarabee Falls which are a delight to end the day. Camp is just a little further on.

Day 5 - Ellensbrook to Prevelly (13km)

Today’s walk follows many undulating walking tracks which make their way to Kilcarnup Beach. Dominated by dunes, we take it easy as we enter the scrublands as we journey towards Horseshoe Bay. The top of the limestone cliffs is where we feel the power of the ocean and enjoy the secluded location we are walking through. Walking down and then along the beach, we cross the Margaret River with caution and care before making our way up to the Prevelly Caravan Park. Here we can have a swim at the beach, a hot shower and relax in the afternoon.

Afternoon: Canoe tour along the Margaret River (optional)

Day 6 - Prevelly to Conto (18km)

We wave goodbye to beautiful Pevelly and make our way towards Boodjidup Creek and the Frank Mouritz Bridge to start our 18km day. Our day will have a few challenging sections with long beaches and soft sand dunes, but the effort is worth it as the prospects of wildlife spotting and pristine beaches is always on offer. Once we are off the soft sand, surrounded by Melaleuca trees we make our way to the stunning Bobs Hollow and Contos Cliffs. Over the next number of km’s you will be rewarded and inspired by the stunning clifftops. Not too far along is our campsite for the evening, Contos.

Day 7 - Contos Campsite to Hamelin Bay (22km)

We start our day with a nice stroll through the Boranup Forest with its Karri trees. The ever-changing nature of this walk has us soon walking through a peppermint tree forest as we walk a few stretches of four-wheel drive tracks. Today’s reward is the pure white Hamelin Bay Beach with crystal clear water, you’ll see why this is declared one of the best beaches in WA. We walk the beach towards Hamelin Bay Holiday Park where we will be spending the night. An amazing location. This is also the famous location where the local sting rays visit you on the shoreline.

Day 8 - Hamelin Bay to Cape Leeuwin (24.5km)

Today is our last day on the Cape to Cape track as this afternoon you will reach your final goal, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. With a hard day ahead, the knowledge that the end is near will keep you motivated and moving. Our day starts with a journey along Foul Bay and then several four-wheel drive tracks. We meet Foul Bay Lighthouse and then onto Cosy Corner. An adventurous spot as we get up close and personal with the ocean as we rock scurry along. The section across Deepdene Beach is really tough going but this being the last day will mean you’ll fly through it. Within a few km’s we pass Skippy Rock and then Quarry Bay as we etch closer and closer to Cape Leeuwin. Lighthouse…. And then, there it is! Congratulations! You have just walked the Cape to Cape expedition! Tonight we stay in Augusta and enjoy a celebratory meal together at the famous local Hotel.
