The main attraction of Gokyo Renjo la pass trek is its remoteness and breath-taking world highest mountain’s scenery, Gokyo lakes, Gokyo Ri, world’s longest glacier, diversified landscape, flora and fauna, unique verities of Sherpa culture, typical mountain villages and monasteries along with great adventurous Renjo la pass (5,360 m). Gokyo trek is a short route trek especially designed for those who have only limited time holidays but committed to visit less crowded trekking destination of Nepal. However, the best season to trek Gokyo Renjo la pass is March-May and September to November. If you are moderately fit and fine and have a sense of adventure you will thoroughly enjoy this trek.

Gokyo Renjo la Pass trek journey starts with the short and scenic transfer from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway of Everest region. Then we start our trekking towards Phakding and cross Sagarmatha National Park with beautiful Sherpa villages, colorful landscapes to reach Namche Bazaar. Then Gokyo Renjo la trek takes you to through the Sherpa village of Khumjung, Dole, Machermo towards Gokyo Lake Valley crossing alongside of enormous Dudh Koshi River. Next, we hike towards the Gokyo RI which provides you a spectacular view like the great Ngozumba Glacier and the great panoramic views of world highest mountains like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu.

Then cross the great adventure pass of Everest region: Renjo la pass and trek towards the Sherpa village named Marulung. Then we back to Namche Bazaar via beautiful village of Thame. Lastly, we trek back to Lukla and take a scenic flight towards capital city Kathmandu.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,320 m/4,330 ft.) and transfer to an Overnight in 4 Star Hotel.
  • Day 02 : Acclimatising Day in Kathmandu Overnight in 4 Star Hotel.
  • Day 03: After an early breakfast, you are transferred by private bus for a 4 – 7 hour drive (depending on traffic) from Kathmandu to Ramechepe, then a flight from Ramechhap to Lukla airport to begin the trek. After reaching Lukla we will meet our porters and start trekking towards Phakding (2,510 m) passing through colourful Sherpa villages along the way.
  • Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,286 ft.) 5-6 hrs.
  • Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar & hike to Syangboche (3,880 m/12,726 ft.) 2-3 hrs.
  • Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4,200 m/13,776 ft.) 5-7 hrs.
  • Day 07: Trek from Dole to Machermo (4,450 m/14,599 ft.) 6-7 hrs.
  • Day 08: Trek from Machermo to Gokyo (4,750 m/15,580 ft.) 5-7 hrs.
  • Day 09: Short hike to Gokyo-RI (5,357 m/17,575 ft.) 2-3 hrs and excursion over Gokyo lakes
  • Day 10: Trek from Gokyo to Marulung (4,137 m/13,572 ft.) via Renjo-La Pass (5,465 m/17,929 ft.) 6-7 hrs.
  • Day 11: Trek from Marlung to Jorsalle (2,740 m/8,990 ft.) 6-7 hrs.
  • Day 12: Trek from Jorsalle to Lukla (2,804 m/9,200 ft.) 5-6 hrs.
  • Day 13: Transfer flight from Lukla airport to Ramechhap where you will be transferred to Kathmandu by private bus for a 4 to 7 hour drive (depending on traffic)
    Lukla to Kathmandu (1,320 m/4,330 ft.). Overnight in 4 Star Hotel
  • Day 14: Rest day in Kathmandu Overnight in 4 Star Hotel
  • Day 15: Depart Kathmandu for home port.

Day 01

Arrival at Kathmandu 1360m.
Upon your arrival at International Airport in Kathmandu, we will pick you up and guide you to your hotel. Overnight at 4 Star Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02

Acclimatisation day in Kathmandu
Kathmandu.

Day 03

Transport from Kathmandu to Lukla 2810m.
After an early breakfast, you are transferred by private bus for a 4 – 7 hour drive (depending on traffic) from Kathmandu to Ramechepe, then a flight from Ramechhap to Lukla airport to begin the trek. After reaching Lukla we will meet our porters and start trekking towards Phakding (2,510 m) passing through colourful Sherpa villages along the way.

Day 04

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3440m.
Today we trek uphill on a rough yet astonishing track about six hours from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3441m). Stay overnight at Lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 05

Rest day at Namche Bazaar.
Today is rest and acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. We can hike this day, the way up Syangboche, Everest View Hotel and Khumjung village. The Himalayas views including Thamserku, Mt. Everest (world highest peak), Mt. Lhotse, Konde, Kangtega, Ama Dablam, and Taboche are excellent from Everest view Hotel. Stay overnight at lodge in Namche bazaar.

Day 06

Trek through Namche Bazaar to Dole 3220m.
Today is the day to trek about seven hours through the beautiful rhododendron forest, chilling scenery and small settlements to reach Dole (4200m). Stay overnight at Lodge in Dole.

Day 07

Trek from Dole to Machhermo 4440m.
Today we trek uphill on a rough trail resting on places enjoying the mountainside, environment and culture around from to Machhermo (4470 m). After about six hours of hike we stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 08

Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo 4750m.
Today we trek about six hours through villages, grasslands and bone chilling trail to reach Gokyo Valley (4790m). Stay overnight at Lodge in Gokyo.

Day 09

Short hike toward Gokyo Ri and back to Gokyo.
Today we move on for a short hike of about three hours to Gokyo Ri (5330 m) to see the astonishing panoramic view of Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawachee. Then we come back to Gokyo for overnight at same Lodge.

Day 10

Trek through Renjo La Pass to Lungdeng 4610m.
Today we trek towards Renjo La Pass (5360m) through the base of mountains. At the top, a stunning panorama unfolds: Tengi Ragi Tau, Rolwaling Himal and the small Rermo Pokhari Lake to the west and Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and the Gokyo lakes to the east. Via the Dudh Pokhari lakes; we descend pleasantly through meadows towards the Bhote Khosi valley to continue along the river. We continue our journey to Lungdeng (4600m) and stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 11

Trek continue to Thame,Namche Jorsalle.
Today we continue on our trail down through forest, pastures, fields, grassy hills and villages to Thame (3800m) the route leaving behind the memories of highest peaks, difficult tracks, and high altitude and reach a small Mongolian settlement Jorsalle. Stay overnight at Lodge in Jorsalle.

Day 12

Trek through Jorsalle to Lukla.
Today we make our on tired foot through beautiful natural scenery, yak pastures, Rhodendron forest and suspension bridges to reach Lukla. Stay overnight at lodge in Lukla.

Day 13

Transfer from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Transfer flight from Lukla airport to Ramechhap where you will be transferred to Kathmandu by private bus for a 4 to 7 hour drive (depending on traffic) Rest of the day at Kathmandu is free time. You can stroll at tourist hubs around Kathmandu. Overnight at 4 Star Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14

Rest Day in Kathmandu
Overnight at 4 Star Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 15

Final Departure.
Today we will guide you to the airport prior to your flight for your departure.
