TUESDAY 9 FEBRUARY KILIMANJARO TO NGORONGORO – A CHANGE OF PACE

Meet your safari team in the Arusha/Moshi area and travel west towards the extraordinary Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrival arrangements for standalone guests will be confirmed before departure.

Day 2

WEDNESDAY 10 FEBRUARY

NGORONGORO CRATER TO NDUTU / SOUTHERN SERENGETI

This morning we descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s great wildlife destinations.

The vast caldera supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, with the possibility of seeing elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippo, lion, hyena and the endangered black rhino.

After our crater safari, we climb back to the rim and continue towards Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti – where February can deliver one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife spectacles.

Overnight: Ndutu / Southern Serengeti

Day 3

THURSDAY 11 FEBRUARY
THE GREAT MIGRATION – CALVING SEASON

Wake to Africa.

February traditionally finds vast numbers of wildebeest and zebra spread across the nutrient-rich short-grass plains of Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti, with the migration’s calving season underway.

The arrival of newborn calves also attracts Africa’s great predators. Lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena all follow the herds, creating an extraordinary wildlife experience.

Today is not about following a rigid route. We follow the wildlife, guided by local knowledge and current herd movements.

Overnight: Ndutu / Southern Serengeti

Day 4

FRIDAY 12 FEBRUARY
SERENGETI – FOLLOWING THE HERDS

Another full day dedicated to the Serengeti.

No two safari days are the same. Perhaps we will find cheetahs stalking across the plains, lions resting after a hunt, elephants moving across the horizon or seemingly endless columns of wildebeest.

Our guides use their local knowledge and current wildlife movements to give us the best possible safari experience.

Overnight: Ndutu / Southern Serengeti

Day 5

SATURDAY 13 FEBRUARY
ONE LAST AFRICAN SUNRISE

There is something special about the Serengeti early in the morning.

We head out for our final game-viewing opportunity as the plains come alive before beginning our journey back towards Arusha/Moshi.

After four nights immersed in Tanzania’s extraordinary wildlife landscapes, we return towards Arusha or Moshi.

Overnight:
Arusha / Moshi
